Harry Styles may have made a splash in his purple ensemble on the 2020 Brit Awards red carpet on Tuesday (Feb. 18), but he dialed it down for his performance during the 40th annual ceremony.
The One Directioner — who host Jack Whitehall joked “you may not have heard of him yet” — swapped out his richly hued arrival look for oversized head-to-toe white, but kept his pearl necklace and added a pair of matching gloves for his performance of “Falling.” As he crooned the ballad from his second solo album, Fine Line, the stage at the O2 arena was covered with water. Its edges were lit only by soft seashell-shaped lamps, and waterfalls cascaded down the grand piano behind him to create a romantic effect.
The 26-year-old was nominated for two awards: male solo artist and album of the year. Fine Line reached the top spot on the Billboard 200 the week of Dec. 28.
