It’s all in the last name with Harry Styles, whose impeccable taste Tuesday night (Feb. 18) at the 2020 Brit Awards gave a hint — a Clue even — about the connecting theme of his trio of eccentric outfits.
Clue was really the name of the game with his plum-colored, white-lace and mustard-hued ensembles at the awards show, possibly inspired by the 1949 board game’s Professor Plum, Mrs. White and Colonel Mustard.
The performer and nominee stepped onto the red carpet donning a double-breasted deep-purple pant suit with a pale blue shirt with white lace collar and violet wool sweater underneath, in a similar fashion to the witty, snooty Professor Plum.
But for his beautiful performance of “Falling” onstage afterward, the One Directioner was clad in all white in a custom Gucci jumpsuit and matching gloves, a dainty dressing to match the lacy white apron dress Mrs. White wears.
Even Styles’ ‘fit while sitting in the audience later that night felt like a runway moment: He wore a vibrant marigold Marc Jacobs three-piece suit straight from the spring/summer 2020 collection, replete with a ruffled lavender bow to a spice up Colonel Mustard’s traditional costume.
So for all of you Clue fans who truly appreciated Styles’ style trifecta, which of his Clue-inspired looks won the night? Look through the pictures before voting below!
