Harry Styles dressed more suitably for a murder mystery party than the 2020 Brit Awards on Tuesday (Feb. 18) when he donned a dapper purple suit on the red carpet while channeling some all-too-serious Professor Plum vibes.
The character from the British board game Cluedo (known as Clue in North America) is a quick-witted, snooty-looking professor who usually wears round-rimmed glasses and smokes out of a pipe. Styles turned up the glam of Plum’s signature look with a double-breasted deep-purple pant suit with a pale blue shirt with a white lace collar and violet sweater underneath. He also sported a pearl necklace and red- and orange-jeweled rings.
Fans have also noticed the black ribbon on Styles’ lapel, guessing that it’s a tribute to late Love Island host Caroline Flack, who was found dead Saturday of an apparent suicide and had a brief relationship with the singer. Styles himself hasn’t explained the ribbon yet.
At Tuesday’s show, the One Direction singer is nominated for both male solo artist and album of the year for Fine Line.
