America’s Got Talent winner Grace VanderWaal spoke to Billboard at last week’s Women in Music event about her long-term predictions for the #metoo movement.
“What I hope and what I think many, many others hope comes out of this is more [awareness] of what you’re doing, and being aware of your actions and how they could affect someone years after,” she said. “It’s not funny, and I think people are especially, right now, really feeling the heat of that and realizing that.”
VanderWaal’s comments come amid a slew of sexual assault allegations levied at powerful men, particularly in the music and film industries.
