Dua Lipa stopped to chat with Billboard on the red carpet at the 2020 Grammy Awards, discussing her new single “Physical,” what fans can expect from her forthcoming album Future Nostalgia, and more.
Asked about hew new single “Physical,” which is due out this Friday (Jan. 31), Lipa tells Billboard that it is very ’80s inspired and “quite Flashdance-y.”
“It’s fun, you can dance to it,” she continues. “It’s definitely my craziest of high energy songs.”
As for what fans can expect from her forthcoming album Future Nostalgia, the singer says that the entire collection of songs relates to the title and how she interpreted it. “I got to work with the photographer Hugo Comte, who I’m a massive fan of,” she adds. “I’m really grateful that we got to work on this together.”
In the interview, Lipa is also asked if she has any picks for best new artist (which Billie Eilish later won), to which she replies that she loves all of the nominees.
“What I’m really happy about is how many women have been nominated in that category again,” she notes. “We can only hope to see more and more of that as the years go by.”
