Dua Lipa elevated the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards on Sunday night (March 14), with a performance of her Future Nostalgia smash “Levitating” — assisted by the star MC who appeared on the song’s remix, DaBaby.
Lipa kicked off the song in a fuschia gown, performing a relatively no-frills version of her top five Hot 100 hit, with DaBaby (fresh off his own show-stopping “Rockstar” performance) then joining to perform his verse.
Then Lipa reappeared, having changed into a glittering oversized blazer (with matching high-heeled boots) — before shedding the blazer for a dance break, and a transition into the smash that kicked off the Future Nostalgia era, “Don’t Start Now.”
Dua Lipa is a six-time nominee at this year’s Grammys, including nods for album of the year (Future Nostalgia), song of the year and record of the year (both “Don’t Start Now”). In the pre-televised Grammy awards, she lost best pop pop/group performance (for “Un Dia (One Day),” with Tainy, Bad Bunny and J Balvin) to Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande’s “Rain on Me.”
