Along with sharing hosting duties at the 2019 CMA Awards, Dolly Parton delivered a predictably powerful performance on Wednesday night (Nov. 13), with a trio of recent collaborative tracks getting prime placement in the ceremony.
After kicking off the night co-hosting with Carrie Underwood and Reba McEntire (both of whom also performed during the evening), Parton took center stage for a medley of her own. After recruiting For King & Country for their collaboration “God Only Knows,” Parton then pivoted to another team-up, this time with Zach Williams for the stirring “There Was Jesus.”
Another recent collaboration of Parton’s, “Faith” by Galantis featuring Mr. Probz, was next, although Parton presented the song solo, while backed by a gospel choir. The result was a feel-good that had everyone from Nicole Kidman and Lil Nas X admiring from the crowd.
The country legend has earned nine CMA Awards over the course of her storied career. Click here for the full winners’ list from tonight’s CMA Awards.
