After taking home the first two awards presented at the 54th ACM Awards on April 7, Dan + Shay brought down the house with a moving performance of their single “Keeping Score.”
The duo emerged on stage, clad in vibrant jackets –a rainbow ombre bomber and a purple velvet number, respectively — nailing every single note and lick of the track. Backed up by a small band, the group earned the respect of the already-electrified audience.
Halfway through the song, Kelly Clarkson emerged, clad in an all-black dress complete with a long, silver earing, to deliver her verse. “If we’re rich to somebody, we’re poor to somebody else/ We could be happy and nameless/ Or broken and famous,” she sang.
Dan + Shay were nominated for a stunning six awards at this year’s ceremony, including song, album and video of the year. Before their performance, the duo had already taken home awards for both single and song of the year.
