Chance the Rapper spoke with Billboard on the red carpet at Clive Davis’ Pre-Grammy Gala on Saturday (Jan. 25), chatting about his newly announced gig hosting the reboot of Punk’d and what his favorite music projects were of 2019.
Asked what will be different about Punk’d this time around, Chance tells Billboard that “everything” will be different and that there are “no rules.”
“I have a good rapport with everybody, everybody’s my friend,” the rapper adds of the reboot from MTV and mobile video platform Quibi. “So they don’t really get super mad at me after I do some crazy shit to ’em…It’s a beautiful thing, it’s a awesome thing.”
He notes that one of the victims of his pranking will be Offest, confessing, “Oh I f—ed Offset up, yo … He was heated. But that’s my guy. Again, like everybody’s cool. It’s a fun show. We got a awesome crew that works on it…and we just try and go bigger and bigger every time.”
In the interview, Chance is also asked what some of his favorite musical projects of 2019 were, to which he names Roddy Ricch?’s Please Excuse Me for Being Antisocial, Young Thug’s So Much Fun, and Kanye West’s Jesus Is King.
