Brandi Carlile will be celebrated with the Impact Award at the upcoming 2019 CMT Next Women of Country event on Nov. 12 in Nashville. The fourth recipient of the honor, Carlile joins an elite class that includes Maren Morris, Kelsea Ballerini and Brandy Clark.
“Not only is she one of the greatest performers of our time, she’s an incredible advocate and champion for her fellow female artists, lending her support and star power to up-and-coming artists in the genre,” said Leslie Fram, CMT senior vice president, music strategy & talent, in a statement. “We are truly thrilled to celebrate her monumental achievements, both as a solo artist, producer, and as a member of the groundbreaking group The Highwomen, with this impact award.”
CMT’s Next Women of Country campaign launched in 2013 as an effort to support and expose females within the country genre’s male dominated format. As a result, the emerging female talent selected each year is broadcast across CMT platforms, digital series and tours.
The seventh annual celebration will be held on Nov. 12 at the Country Music Hall of Fame & Museum’s CMA Theater. It is co-hosted by Martina McBride and CMT’s Fram.
