On Friday night (Feb. 8), Billboard’s Industry Night Showcase had its final party in West Hollywood, Calif. The swanky high-rise atmosphere offered a picturesque scene overlooking Los Angeles as the sun set and the music took off before Sunday’s award show.
Featured this evening were Ireland’s up-and-comers Picture This and American Authors.

Picture This set the mood with a simple, yet strong 3-song set. Playing their hit “When We Were Young,” the lads harmonized effortlessly and showed us why their name is one to watch in 2019.
The club-friendly “One Drink” was highlighted next and kicked the energy up a notch. Guitarist Owen Cardiff and singer Ryan Hennessy played off each other and showed real cohesion. The group finished with the single “If You Wanna Be Loved” off their new album MDRN LV, which drops next week (Feb. 15).

American Authors’ stripped down set featured lead singer and guitarist Zac Barnett strumming away to the smash hit “Best Day Of Our Lives” as the crowd coolly sang along.
Barnett has a broken foot and used a crutch to get around, hence the two-man melodic approach for the set. Wrapping things up with “Deep Water,” the group showed their staying power with a cut off the recently released album, Seasons.
