Chrissy Teigen and Empire‘s Jussie Smollett took questions from fans via Twitter after they announced the nominations for the 2015 Billboard Music Awards this morning (April 7).
After reading the lengthy list of nominees with only a few pronunciation gaffes (Hozier‘s name proved tricky), the duo shared their thoughts about the upcoming awards and their favorite nominees. “This time last year I was sitting watching the Billboard Awards,” Smollett said, “So this is huge.”

Teigen talked about preparing to host the show, saying the live element (and the chance “to mess with [co-host] Ludacris“) was one of the things she was looking forward to the most. “I hope somebody takes their pants off,” she added.
“I’m excited to see what Chrissy’s going to do,” Smollett said. “I follow her on Twitter, she’s so witty and kind of a smart-ass.”
While Teigen’s favorite nominee was her husband John Legend (she sped through the names of other nominees in the categories he appeared in), neither Teigen nor Smollet could contain their appreciation for Queen Bey. “I’m a big Beyoncé fan,” Teigen said, eventually sharing an anecdote about how she broke her foot (!) dancing to her hit single “7/11.” Smollett said that he would love to see the singer on Empire, as well as R&B legends Janet Jackson and Mariah Carey.
