Ashley McBryde has enjoyed a breakthrough year, and at the 2019 Academy of Country Music Awards, the singer-songwriter offered a poignant take on one of the songs that helped her rise up the country ranks, “Girl Goin’ Nowhere.”
McBryde enjoyed ample cheers from the crowd at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Sunday night (April 7) as she presented the tale of the rush she gets as a performer after being doubted during her early days.
Clad in a black leather jacket, McBryde seemed to be soaking in the moment while performing at the ACMs for the first time.
McBryde is already a winner tonight, having taken home the new female artist of the year trophy. Her debut album, Girl Going Nowhere, was released in March 2018.
The ACM Awards are produced by dick clark productions, a division of Valence Media, the parent company of the Billboard-Hollywood Reporter Media Group.
