Coldplay and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis will premiere new songs at the 2015 American Music Awards, organizers said today.
Coldplay will deliver the U.S. television debut of “Adventure Of A Lifetime,” the first single from the British band’s new album A Head Full of Dreams (out Dec. 4), while Macklemore & Ryan Lewis promise to premiere a new song for the first-time ever on TV.
The two acts join Gwen Stefani (who will perform “Used to Love You”) as new additions to the AMAs bill.
They join a line-up of previously-announced star-performers which includes Pentatonix, 5 Seconds of Summer, Selena Gomez, Nick Jonas, Demi Lovato, One Direction, Carrie Underwood and Walk The Moon.
ABC will air the AMAs live from Los Angeles’ Microsoft Theater on Nov. 22, with Jennifer Lopez performing and hosting for the first time.
Taylor Swift is the most nominated artist at this year’s awards with six, though The Weeknd, Ed Sheeran, Sam Smith, Nicki Minaj and Meghan Trainor aren’t far behind. AMAs nominees are based on key fan interactions as reflected in Billboard Magazine and on Billboard.com, including album and digital singles sales, radio airplay, streaming, social activity and touring. These measurements are tracked by Billboard and its data partners, including Nielsen Entertainment and Next Big Sound.
