ABC today and dick clark productions announced on Wednesday (Sept. 19) that Carrie Underwood, Imagine Dragons and Post Malone ft. Ty Dolla $ign will take to the stage for the upcoming 2018 American Music Awards.
The 12-time AMA award-winning country singer, the multi platinum alternative rock band and chart topping rapper will be leading the initial list of performers for the annual broadcast, which will air live from Los Angeles’ Microsoft Theater on Oct. 9.
Underwood, who is nominated for favorite female artist, will be performing a song from her critically acclaimed sixth studio album, Cry Pretty. The performance marks the first time the singer returned to the award ceremony’s stage since 2015.
Imagine Dragons will take to the AMAs stage to perform “Natural,” the hit that earned them the No. 1 spot on Billboard‘s Rock Airplay and Alternative Songs chart. The band also secured nominations for Artist of the Year, Favorite Alternative Rock Artist and Favorite Duo or Group.
Malone will be making his AMAs stage debut joined by Ty Dolla $ign to perform “Psycho” from his sophomore release, beerbongs & bentleys. In addition to a solo performance, Malone is nominated in seven categories and is up for the coveted artist of the year award.
