After winning a 2019 American Music Award for her No. 1 hit “Without Me,” Halsey took the stage on Sunday night (Nov. 24) to perform a more recent single, “Graveyard,” and did so in colorful, captivating fashion.
Halsey was joined onstage by a stunt double version of herself, so to speak — a dancer in an identical hairstyle and matching white clothes mirrored the pop star as they moved around a bare white setup. Midway through the performance, however, the pair began smearing colored paint on each other, sullying the pristine stage setup and turning the table into a flipped-over canvas. The performance earned wild applause as Halsey conquered her double and breathlessly stepped outside the white room.
Earlier in the ceremony, Halsey’s Hot 100 chart-topper “Without Me” took home the AMA for favorite song – pop/rock, besting tracks like Jonas Brothers’ “Sucker,” Panic! at the Disco’s “High Hopes” and Post Malone and Swae Lee’s “Sunflower.” Both “Without Me” and “Graveyard,” which has peaked at No. 42 on the Hot 100 chart, will be included on Halsey’s third album Manic, due out Jan. 17, 2020.
