The 2020 ACM Award nominations were announced Thursday (Feb. 17) and nominees from Brantley Gilbert and Lady Antebellum to Eric Church and Lee Brice are taking to social media to celebrate.
“Never take these for granted…. Can’t thank the @ACMawardsenough for the nomination for music event of the year…#bgnation we’re going to Vegas,” Gilbert wrote about his collaboration with Lindsay Ell, “What Happens In a Small Town.”
Meanwhile, Charles Kelley of Lady Antebellum marked the group’s dual nominations — for single of the year and group of the year — with a cute video of his son. “How Wardy and I celebrated the news of @ladyantebellum 2 @acmawards nominations for #singleoftheyear and #groupoftheyear,” he tweeted alongside a dancing video of the boy clad in pajamas.
Gabby Barrett, who recently hit No. 1 on Billboard‘s Emerging Artists chart for her debut single “I Hope,” has even more reason to celebrate this week as she garnered her first ACM Awards nomination in the new female artist of the year category. “I am so excited to be nominated for my first-ever ACM Award,” she tells Billboard. “This is my first major nomination and I am so thankful, so excited. Huge thank you to country radio, my husband, my entire team and to my fans and family! Thank you also to the Academy of Country Music — I couldn’t do this without you, I feel truly blessed.”
Newcomer Tenille Townes received two nominations, for best new female artist and music event of the year for “Fooled Around and Fell in Love” with Miranda Lambert, Maren Morris, Ashley McBryde, Caylee Hammack and Elle King. “My goodness I was so excited this morning, dancing in the kitchen hearing about the ACM Nominations,” she says. “It truly is such an honor to have a seat at this country music family table. To be seated next to such bada– artists in the new female artist category is my favorite. And I still can’t believe I got to sing on ‘Fooled Around and Fell In Love’ this year with all of those voices that inspire me so much.”
The 55th ACM Awards are set to air live on Sunday, April 5 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on CBS. Hosted by Keith Urban, the show will be broadcast from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
