
Billboard and Telemundo officially revealed the 2020 Billboard Latin Music Awards finalists Wednesday (Feb. 5), and this year, Bad Bunny and Ozuna lead the pack with 14 mentions each, including artist of the year.
Other top finalists include Daddy Yankee, Anuel AA, Farruko, Rosalia and Karol G, in addition to first-time finalists Pedro Capó, Sech, Manuel Turizo and Danny Ocean, to name a few.
After the announcement was made, many artists headed to social media to share their excitement. “I feel very grateful for being one of the finalists,” Balvin said in a post on Twitter. In a video on Instagram, four-time finalist Luis Fonsi said it was a true honor. On Instagram stories, Turizo shared an image of his artist of the year, new nod and Sech said “thank you” with a praying-hands emoji.
The Billboard Latin Music Awards 2020 will broadcast live Thursday, April 23, via Telemundo.
The awards show is the culmination of LatinFest+, produced by Billboard and Telemundo, which is a three-day immersive experience dedicated to Latin music, culture and entertainment taking place April 20-23 at The Venetian in Las Vegas, Nevada. Celebrating its 30th anniversary, LatinFest+, formerly known as Billboard Latin Music Week, will include superstar conversations, workshops, live concerts, fan experiences, and will feature artists such as J Balvin, Rosalía, Los Tigres del Norte and Ozuna, among many others.
