Two singers showed up on the 2019 Grammys red carpet wearing their support for Trump on their sleeves.
Villa arrived in a “build the wall” dress designed by Designers Allinger of Desi Designs, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The look was topped off with a spiked headpiece, barbed wire at the shoulders and a cloak meant to resemble steel. She also carried a red “Make America Great Again” handbag.
“I grew up in theater, so I’ve always used costume as a way to express myself,” Villa said to THR. “It’s an opportunity to show the world who I am on the red carpet, which to me is the same as a stage. I approach it as a show. I want to ‘wow’ people. My heroes on the red carpet have always been Cher, Madonna, the wild ones; the worst dressed. Or Lady Gaga with the meat dress. Who even talks about the best dressed? No one even remembers who was best dressed last year!”
Rebel, meanwhile, was photographed in a “Keep America Great” suit jacket, which he wore as “a reflection of the 60 million+ Americans that voted for @realdonaldtrump.”
“Be #TheNewAlpha,” he tweeted. “Don’t let anyone keep you in the closet. #kagjacket by @officialandresoriano.”
At the 2018 Grammys, Villa made headlines when she unveiled her pro-life outfit with a graphic image of a fetus, accessorized with a “Choose Life” purse.
In 2017, her Grammys gown featured the “Make America Great Again” slogan and Trump’s name printed on its train.
