The nominations for the 2018 American Music Awards will be announced on Wednesday (Sept. 12) at 9 a.m. P.T. live from YouTube Space LA by a quartet of musical heavy hitters including Normani, Bebe Rexha, Ella Mai and Kane Brown.
The noms will live stream on the official AMA YouTube channel and include a panel discussion about this year’s honorees with Billboard correspondent Chelsea Briggs and the four singers.
The 2018 AMAs will be broadcast live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on Oct. 9 at 8 p.m. E.T. on ABC. AMA nominees are based on key fan interactions as reflected on Billboard.com, including streaming, album and digital song sales, radio airplay, social activity and touring. These measurements are tracked by Billboard and its data partners, including Nielsen Music and Next Big Sound, and reflect the time period of Sept. 15, 2017, through August 9, 2018.
This year’s show will be hosted by black-ish star Tracee Ellis Ross.
