In addition, you can always count on a lively discussion about the latest pop news, fun chart stats and stories, new music and guest interviews with music stars and folks from the world of pop.
Casual pop fans and chart junkies can hear Billboard co-director of charts Keith Caulfield and Billboard editorial director Jason Lipshutz every week on the Pop Shop Podcast, which can be streamed on Billboard.com or downloaded in iTunes (click here to listen to the previous Tuesday’s edition of the show on Billboard.com).
On the latest show, we remember the late Tom Petty, who died on Oct. 2. The rock legend spent the past 40 years racking up hits on Billboard’s charts, including his first No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 with his final studio set released during his lifetime, 2014’s Hypnotic Eye.
The Killers notch its first No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 with Wonderful, Wonderful — more than 13 years after the band debuted on the chart back in 2004. The new set starts atop the list, and gives the band its fifth top 10 effort. Plus, Demi Lovato earns her fourth top 10 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 with “Sorry Not Sorry,” as the song rises 15-10 on the latest chart.
Outside the top 10, Imagine Dragons and Camila Cabello both strut up the list with their latest hits. Imagine Dragons’ “Thunder” bolts 30-17, while Cabello’s “Havana” rises 64-44 following her buzzy performance of the track on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Lastly, industry forecasters expect Shania Twain to debut atop next week’s Billboard 200 with her first studio album in nearly 15 years, Now.
