As is bound to happen on occasion, we’ve got a divisive Must-Hear Music podcast on our hands (or ears) this week.
And it’s all Mumford & Sons‘ fault. While Jason Lipshutz says the band’s move into straight-rock territory is producing their best material yet, Joe Lynch and (first-time podcaster) Natalie Weiner aren’t as sold on the new sound.
One thing we can all agree on, however, is that the new A$AP Rocky track “M’$” is a total banger, and we’re lucky to have Rocky returning with summer on the horizon.
Tyler, the Creator dropped Cherry Bomb this week, and we talk about its buzziest track: “Smuckers” featuring Lil Wayne and one of Kanye West‘s most socially-conscious verses in a minute.
Also: We talk about The-Dream‘s “Throw It Back,” Lightning Bolt‘s destructive-on-the-headphones jam “Over the River and Through the Woods,” and Erik Hassle’s “No Words,” a disco-indebted song that’s probably his best yet.
Listen to the Must-Hear Music podcast below and/or download it on iTunes. Beneath the SoundCloud, check out the songs we’re talking about.
