This week on El Factor Latino podcast, recording artists Sech, Justin Quiles, Dalex and music producer Dimelo Flow sat down with Billboard’s Latin associate editor, Suzette Fernández, to speak about their first collab album, The Academy.
“This project is about a group of friends,” Sech tells Billboard. “They became friends and unite their talent.”
The seven-track EP, which debuted at No. 10 on the Latin Rhythm Albums chart dated Oct. 26, features hitmakers Wisin, Zion & Lennox, De La Ghetto and Justin Quiles, as well as newcomers Lenny Tavárez, Feid, Cazzu, and Mariah. The set was released under Rich Music.
How did the guys meet? According to Quiles, he met Dalex back in high school thanks to a mutual friend, and Sech through Dimelo Flow, who is also from Panama.
Since Sech was at the Billboard studios, we also took the opportunity to ask him about his Latin Grammy nominations. “It’s my first nomination,” said the artist. “It’s a dream and if I win I’m going to have a huge party.”
