Happy holidays! On this week’s Must-Hear Music podcast, we’re getting in the seasonal spirit and looking at a few 2015 Christmas songs — and one underrated track from a Christmas past.
First up we talk about Miley Cyrus‘ stunning version of “Silent Night,” part of her performance on the Netflix special A Very Murray Christmas. Then we turn our attention to Fetty Wap‘s latest, an entry in the growing catalog of hip-hop holiday songs, titled “Merry Xmas” ft. Monty.
Back in the pop world, we talk about Katy Perry‘s short but sugary sweet “Every Day Is a Holiday,” a song recorded for an H&M ad that we agree needs an official studio version. For an offering above the border, we’re looking at Carly Rae Jepsen‘s faithful rendition of Wham!‘s holiday heartbreaker, “Last Christmas.”

In the indie realm, we check out the new Christmas album from Cassie Ramone of Vivian Girls, Christmas In Reno, which includes an appealing lo-fi version of Darlene Love‘s “Christmas (Baby Please Come Home).”
And as for the song of Christmas past, Erin Strecker shocks us (me and Denise Warner) by recommending a tune from Barenaked Ladies and Sarah McLachlan from the album Barenaked for the Holidays (who knew?).
