Welcome to the latest episode of the Billboard.com Pop Shop Podcast, Billboard’s weekly half-hour audio breakdown of the Billboard charts, hottest music news and year’s biggest musical events. Casual pop fans and chart junkies can hear Billboard co-director of charts Keith Caulfield and Billboard.com senior editor Katie Atkinson every Tuesday on the free Pop Shop Podcast, which can be streamed on Billboard.com or downloaded in iTunes (click here to listen to the previous episode on Billboard.com).
On the latest episode, we are joined by Fifth Harmony‘s Ally Brooke, who called us to talk about her work with March of Dimes around Prematurity Awareness Month. Since she was a preemie herself, she’s hoping to help families like hers who are dealing with issues of premature birth. And since this is the Pop Shop Podcast, of course we had to get into the music too. She and the rest of Fifth Harmony are back in the studio recording the follow-up to their debut album, Reflection, and Ally told us the ladies had a lot more input this time around. She also talked about the success of their single “Worth It,” which rose all the way up to No. 12 on the Billboard Hot 100, and their upcoming appearance at Billboard‘s Women in Music event, where Fifth Harmony will be honored as Group of the Year.

We also get into this week’s charts, where everything’s coming up Adele. She’s No. 1 on both the Billboard 200 (with 25) and Billboard Hot 100 (with “Hello”), and she lands four other songs on the Hot 100 this week too. Oh, and she broke what was previously believed to be an unbreakable record, selling 3.38 million copies of her album to topple *NSYNC‘s 2.42 million albums sold with No Strings Attached.
