Chvrches fandom is turning info a lifestyle. Their fans adore them, and they’ve adapted the Scottish trio’s ethos to their own lives. They’re like a family, and they bring the whole family together.
“I think looking at the front row of a Chvrches show is really diverse,” frontwoman Lauren Mayberry says. “It could be 50-year-old dudes who love Depeche Mode or teenagers or teenage girls and their dad.”
Billboard’s Chris Payne chatted with the band on board this month’s Parahoy! cruise about the Chvrches lifestyle and playing alongside similarly beloved acts like Paramore, Lights and New Found Glory.
“The thing that’s different for us is the community around the band has galvanized in a way it didn’t necessarily around the first [album].”
Check out the podcast above to hear Chvrches talk about all this and a variety of other topics: their groundbreaking ideas for new band merchandise, wanting to collaborate on board with Hayley Williams, dealing with trolls online, and much more.
