For the past 14 years, WWE superstar John Cena has risen from brolic babyface to the self-proclaimed “Doctor of Thuganomics” and 15-time world champion. Whether dishing out Attitude Adjustments on the mat or continuously being a Make-a-Wish Foundation MVP (he’s granted 500 wishes as of last August), Cena will add a new bullet point to his resume when he hosts the 2016 ESPY Awards on Wednesday (July 13).
Billboard recently caught up with Cena during his press trip to New York at ESPN HQ to discuss his pre-ESPYs butterflies, hitting the Billboard 200 and Rap Albums charts with his 2005 studio effort You Can’t See Me, his favorite sports moments of the year and how he used to spit his own self-written sixteens on the mic.
