On Thursday, Colombia's highest court voted against a proposal that said marriage only applied to unions between men and women. With a six-to-three vote against the proposed ruling, Colombia is one step closer to becoming the fourth country in Latin America to legalize gay marriage joining Brazil, Uruguay and Argentina.

Latin music stars such as Ricky Martin, Juanes and ChocQuibTown's Gloria Emilce Martínez "Goyo" took to social media to celebrate the court's decision.

"Love and equality win, Colombia says YES to same-sex marriage," tweeted the Puerto Rican singer.

The "Una Flor" singer wrote: "Love is stronger than anything and should never have any chains on it. I am celebrating this news."

"Happy that same-sex marriage is a reality in Colombia," wrote Goyo.
