WWE took over The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon Thursday night (Jan. 18) when wrestling stars Triple H, Stephanie McMahon and The New Day stopped by to showcase their lip-syncing chops.
In a tag-team version of Lip Sync Battle, Triple H and McMahon took on The New Day and Fallon. The teams were each given a choice of two songs, one of which would be selected randomly. The teams began the song before tagging the other member in to complete the song.
While the winner was initially supposed to receive lifelong bragging rights, Stephanie decided to up the ante, challenging Fallon to come to the 25th anniversary of RAW next Monday (Jan. 22) if team Triple H were to win.
Team Fallon went first, as The New Day broke into character to deliver a savory performance of Boyz II Men’s “Motownphilly.” The group tagged Fallon in who transitioned into the chorus seamlessly.
Team Triple H followed up with a performance “How Far I’ll Go” from Disney’s Moana. Mic stand handy and all, Stephanie McMahon began false-crooning into the air, but it was Triple H who stole the show as the heavyweight channeled his emotional side to finish out the song and ultimately give his team the victory.
