Think you have what it takes to be a Bad Boy for life? Will Smith put a few strangers to the test in his “Bad Boys for Lyft” challenge in Miami, Fla., where the action film star embodied his Bad Boys For Life character detective Mike Lowrey and evaluated who could fill in as his partner in crime played by Martin Lawrence‘s character Marcus Burnett.
The selected passengers thought they signed up to test some new, unreleased Lyft tech features, but a joy ride in the new 2020 Porsche Taycan awaited them with none other than Smith behind the driver’s seat.
One passenger, Mateo, FaceTimed his Bad Boys superfan girlfriend during the ride with Smith in the background, and the actor informed her that he, just like everyone else, was “being broken in as a potential new Bad Boys partner.”
To keep Miami safe, the passengers rolled up on passersby to investigate if they were criminals, tried out some cop phrases like “Freeze!” and “Get down on the ground right now!” and verified they could handle speed in order to get a full five-star rating from Smith.
He instructed Zakiyya to ask cop questions louder or else “You’re gonna get us killed out here.” Meanwhile, Mira’s expletive-riddled cop sayings turned a little too sensual when she rehearsed, “Aye, Papi, wanna get down or what?”
“Yo, yo, yo, yo, c’mon, you can’t be calling him ‘Papi,'” the Bad Boys actor argued. “You’re gonna be in internal affairs, and that’s gonna be like you sexually harassed him.”
Regardless of their sub-five-star ratings, each passenger ending up winning one year of free Lyft rides, not to mention some pretty dope slow-motion action shots of them with Smith.
