Mother’s Day will come a week early this year when VH1 airs its third annual Dear Mama: A Love Letter to Moms on May 7 at 9 p.m. ET.
The celebrity-packed celebration of all things maternal will again be hosted by comedian and black-ish star Anthony Anderson (his third time hosting) and actress and Power star La La Anthony, along with a roster of all-star guests, on hand to pay tribute to the women who have helped shaped their lives and careers.
This year’s show will take place at The Theatre at Ace Hotel in downtown Los Angeles. Past stars who’ve participated in the special include Queen Latifah, Mary J. Blige, Ludacris, DJ Khaled, Alicia Keys, Will Smith, Halle Berry and Maxwell; a list of this year’s presenters and honorees will be announced soon.
Dear Mama is being produced by Flavor Unit and Jesse Collins Entertainment. Shakim Compere, Queen Latifah, Jesse Collins, and Jeannae Rouzan-Clay are executive producers. For VH1, Amy Doyle, Garrett English, Elena Diaz and Andria Parides are executive producers, and Joe Buoye is executive in charge of production.
