Tiffany Haddish, the breakout star from Girls Trip, made a stop at The Ellen DeGeneres Show where she talked about her newfound connections with A-list celebrities like Barbra Streisand and Taylor Swift.
When DeGeneres asked Haddish about Streisand, the comedic actress said, “We recently met at Ron Meyer’s house, he’s the chairman over at [NBC] Universal or whatever. He invited me over for dinner and a movie, right? And then there she was, Barbra Streisand. She’s like, ‘Tiffany!’ And I’m like, ‘What up, girl!’”
She continued, “I had informed her about Cardi B and how she just transformed her whole life and how she’s a role model to children, and how we have to be role models to young girls and show you can empower yourself. You can have whatever you want in life.”
But Streisand didn’t know who Cardi B was. Naturally, Haddish launched into a cover of her chart-topping single, “Bodak Yellow.” In response, Streisand said, “Sounds catchy.”
Haddish added to her star-studded story by recalling her potluck with Taylor Swift, as the pair met at Saturday Night Live when Haddish hosted and Swift was the musical guest last month. The movie star requested barbecue chicken, potato salad and a brisket from Swift, while she supplied collard greens because she has her own garden in her backyard in South Central LA, where she also grows kale, strawberries and eggplants.
Then, Haddish revealed a little-known secret about Swift: “Taylor can cook, okay. She can cook. The chicken was bomb! And she made cornbread: bomb! So good!”
