The Voice battle rounds are underway, and Monday night’s (March 30) episode saw Team Kelly stars Gigi Hess and Micah Iverson face off with a performance of Lewis Capaldi‘s “Someone You Loved.”
The chemistry was clear as the two belted out the emotional lyrics, and ended their performance with a warm embrace.
“Gigi, you have a brokenness that’s also very beautiful,” coach Kelly Clarkson told them. “Everything kind of bleeds through your voice, which I am so attracted to. And Micah, I actually love your falsetto. It gets so passionate that it almost feels like you’re on the verge of tears.”
When having to decide who to keep in the competition, Clarkson admitted that “this one is the hardest, because you both have such beautiful chemistry as well. I almost want you to be a duo.”
Ultimately, Clarkson chose Micah, whom she said has “talent for days” and would be “shocked if [he] weren’t in the finale this season.”
