The Pride has arrived.
Walt Disney Studios shared promo pics Tuesday (July 2) for the upcoming remake of The Lion King, with Donald Glover starring as Simba and Beyoncé as Nala. The photos show each voice actor staring across a black background at their photorealistic animated character, bringing to life the star-studded cast.
Beyoncé took to Instagram to share her photo, with no caption, as per usual.
Billy Eichner, who voices meerkat Timon, tweeted his picture with Seth Rogen (Pumbaa) and John Oliver (Zazu) with the caption: “Name a more iconic sextet. I’ll wait.” He also joked on Instagram, “This won’t get as many likes as the one @beyonce just posted but I’m doing the best I can.”
Eric Andre also joined in, writing, “I’m pissed I think?” about his photo with fellow hyenas Florence Kasumba and Keegan-Michael Key.
The Lion King hits theatres July 19 and features a reworked soundtrack by Hans Zimmer, Elton John and Beyoncé.
