On Thursday (Jan. 3), Rami Malek confirmed his long-rumored relationship with Bohemian Rhapsody co-star Lucy Boynton. The pair arrived separately to the Palm Springs International Film Festival’s Film Awards Gala, but Malek acknowledged their relationship in his acceptance speech.
He began by saying, “I’m just really honored to be here, so thank you to the Palm Springs Film Festival. It’s a privilege, it’s not lost on me and I’m so appreciative.”
He then addressed Boynton and said, “Thank you, Lucy Boynton. You have been my ally, my confidant, my love. Thank you so much.”
The couple met while filming Bohemian Rhapsody back in 2017, with Malek starring as late Queen frontman Freddie Mercury and Boynton playing Mercury’s first fiancée Mary Austin. Relationship rumors have been circling them since April, with reports that Malek would frequently visit Boynton in London.
