Just in time for the release of his ninth feature length Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, Quentin Tarantino took over Spotify’s “Film & TV Favorites” playlist with his preferred music picks from his filmography.
Beginning with Nancy Sinatra‘s “Bang Bang” from the opening of Kill Bill: Vol. 1, the playlist contains a robust 70 songs, including Kool & The Gang‘s “Jungle Boogie” from Pulp Fiction and David Bowie‘s “Cat People (Putting Out the Fire)” from Inglourious Basterds.
Tracks by The White Stripes, ZZ Top and Johnny Cash also made the cut.
In a recorded intro, Tarantino encourages listeners to “Sit back, relax and move into the soundscape of a Quentin Tarantino movie. You may never wanna leave.”
To go along with the playlist, Tarantino sat down with Spotify for a special podcast to discuss the music for his past films as well as Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. The soundtrack is out now on all streaming services, with songs from Simon & Garfunkel, Deep Purple and Paul Revere & The Raiders.
