Ocean’s 8 might be the ultimate girl-power spin off! The movie, set to release next summer has an all-star cast featuring Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Sarah Paulson, Rihanna, Anne Hathaway, Helena Bonham Carter, Mindy Kaling and Awkwafina.
The official Ocean’s 8 cast photo shows the ladies calmly riding the New York City subway. Warner Bros. teased the plot in a statement: “the tide will turn as Debbie Ocean (SANDRA BULLOCK) attempts to pull off the heist of the century at New York City’s star-studded annual Met Gala. Her first stop is to assemble the perfect crew…”
Rihanna shared the photo to her Instagram account this morning, with the caption “First looQ at #Oceans8 …. Coming summer 2018.”
The highly anticipated movie is a spin-off from the 2001 hit Ocean’s Eleven — a remake of the ’60s Rat Pack caper comedy of the same name — which was followed by Ocean’s Twelve and Ocean’s Thirteen. The crime movie series has grossed over $1.1 billion worldwide.
