If Lizzo had a single gospel, it would be one preaching self-love and confidence — and Aidy Bryant is more than ready to follow her lead.
In a sketch that didn’t make it to TV due to time constraints, Aidy Bryant has a simple question for her Saturday Night Live castmates Kate McKinnon and Cecily Strong: “Why can’t I be 100% that b–ch?!” Strong assures her that she is: “You just gotta know it, like Lizzo does.”
Bryant then proceeds to embrace her inner Lizzo, trying on some of her most memorable looks — like the sherbet gown and teeny, tiny purse she brought to the 2019 American Music Awards — and flirt with anyone who crosses her path backstage at SNL, including host and SNL alum Eddie Murphy.
Lizzo is all for Bryant’s reinvention and her glow-up. “Is it me, or are we best friends?!” the comedienne asks before leaving Lizzo’s dressing room. “Yeah! I mean, I’m definitely your best friend,” the singer/rapper/flutist conceded. “That’s great for you.”
