The “Little Drummer Boy” is so played out. On Monday night’s (Dec. 10) Late Late Show James Corden and Will & Grace star Sean Hayes teamed up for a brand new Christmas classic dedicated to one of our finest American actors/ranters: Michael Rapaport.
As Corden finished decorating his tree, Hayes arrived to spread some Christmas cheer. “I really love this time of year, don’t you?” the host asked. “I certainly do, James. Christmastime is always full of such warmth and joy,” said Hayes.
“It is, isn’t it?” replied Corden. “But more than anything else, it makes me think of a certain special person, a special person who, let’s be honest, Christmas is really all about.” Atypical star and fantasy football fanatic Michael Rapaport, of course. And then, in an homage to the legendary 1977 Bing Crosby/David Bowie cover of “The Little Drummer Boy,” the men gathered around a grand piano (with a picture of Rapaport between them) and sang the inspiring lyrics in perfect harmony: “Come they told me, Michael Ra-pa-pa-port/ A newborn king to see, Michael Ra-pa-pa-port.”
