Iggy Azalea owned the stage on The Late Late Show With James Corden Tuesday night (March 20). The Australian rapper, donning an all-black getup and newly pink hair, performed her newest single “Savior” in the company of a crew of 8 backup dancers and singers. Quavo is featured on the studio version of the track, although the Migos rapper wasn’t present for this performance.
“Savior” portrays a more vulnerable, emotional side of Azalea than singles like “Fancy” that originally shot her to fame four years ago. While the beat and instrumentals on the new track are on the tamer side for the rapper, with a gospel tinge to the backing vocals, Iggy’s unmistakable vocal flair is still present. “Savior” is slated for Azalea’s upcoming album, Surviving the Summer, which will be her first studio album in four years.
Azalea also announced recently that her green card application had finally been accepted after over a decade of working in the U.S. She took to Twitter to address the “miserable” people who disapprove of her obtaining permanent residency.
Seriously! I’ve been here 12 years! only just got approved!
been paying my fed & state taxes etc but can’t vote or have a say how it’s spent.
Some people are SO miserable.
Y’all would be happy for me to get deported back to a country I only know 4 ppl in though! I worked hard. https://t.co/SlLx7f98dS
