The 2019 Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards took place on Sunday (March 23) in Los Angeles. DJ Khaled hosted the celebrity studded event, and Migos took the stage to perform a medley of their hit songs. And of course, the annual award show did not miss the opportunity to slime some of the night’s biggest winners.
Stars made their way to the orange carpet where Billboard asked artists, actors and YouTube stars about their favorite childhood TV show on Nickelodeon.
Take a look at some of their nostalgic responses below.
Offset, Takeoff and Quavo were nominated for their first KCA this year, in the category of favorite music group. They hit the stage to perform “Walk It Talk It,” “Stir Fry” and latest single “Pure Water” — and yes, they kept it kid-friendly.
But before the show, Migos stopped by to let us know some of their favorite Nickelodeon shows they grew up watching. Quavo’s an All That fan, while Offset preferred Rocket Power and Takeoff couldn’t choose: “I love all of them.”
Nominated for favorite social music star, Baby Ariel (born Ariel Rebecca Martin) was excited and energetic on the carpet. When asked what her favorite TV show from her childhood was her response was immediate.
“It was like a family show!” she said of Drake and Josh, her pick. “Like it wasn’t just a kid’s show, we all watched it.”
Youtube king David Dobrik won the KCA for favorite social star. Before the show, he told Billboard on the carpet “I used to watch this, and it’s just insane being here.” As far as his favorite Nickelodeon show, Dobrik said, “Come on, Drake and Josh! What kind of question is this!? Drake and Josh 100 percent.”
Bubbly personality and YouTube star Jojo Siwa brought her infamous energy to the orange carpet, complete with a signature hair bow. Siwa says her favorite shows were iCarly and Drake and Josh, by a wide margin: “Oh yeah those two, hands down!”
Sierra Capri, who plays Monse Finnie on Netflix’s On My Block, had an answer right away: “All That and The Amanda Show.“
Guava Juice (a.k.a. Roi Fabito)
Nominated for favorite social star, the YouTube personality took it all the way back and went with Legends of the Hidden Temple.
In Real Life (IRL)
IRL, the winners from ABC’s summer show Boy Band, excitedly made their way to the orange carpet. Members Sergio, Michael, Chance, Drew and Brady had a variety of answers when asked about their favorite Nickelodeon shows. Drake and Josh was the group consensus, but Victorious and iCarly were also named in the conversation.
