Katy Perry, Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan want to remind you how excited they are to get back behind the judge’s table for the upcoming season of American Idol, which is scheduled to premiere on ABC on March 3.
The iconic singing competition teased the premiere of Season 17 right before the Super Bowl LIII on Sunday night (Feb. 3), as Bryan twirled a football and told viewers he hoped they “enjoy the big game.”
“And don’t forget the halftime show,” Perry said in the 50-second clip. “Performing on that stage is one of the most exciting things I’ve ever done.”
“And who knows, maybe one of our new Idol hopefuls will make it to that stage one day very soon,” Richie added.
Fans got a snippet of what to expect for the next season as the teaser’s speedy montage showcased Perry, Richie and Bryan’s quest to find the nation’s next big star with the help of host Ryan Seacrest and Bobby Bones joining in as the in-house mentor.
