Josh Groban stopped by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Thursday (Sept. 20) for a special outdoor performance of his song, “River,” in New York City’s Central Park.
Groban delivered a soulful performance of the gospel-inspired track with his beautiful tenor, flanked by four backup singers for a choir-like effect designed to induce goosebumps.
“River” appears on Groban’s eighth studio album Bridges, out today (Sept. 21). The release is Groban’s first album of original music in five years since 2013’s All that Echoes.
This fall, Groban will be embarking on the Bridges tour, which starts in the United States on Oct. 19 in Duluth, Ga. before concluding at NYC’s Madison Square Garden on Nov. 18.
