Jennifer Lawrence explained how much it pained her when she saw her private nude photos leak in a cyber hack in 2014. In an interview with CBS’ 60 Minutes on Sunday. Lawrence shared that the leak made her reluctant to do nude scenes in her films.
But the Mother actress decided that she wouldn’t let the incident stop her from pursuing a role in the Francis Lawrence-directed spy flick Red Sparrow, revealing that the new film — which required her to go topless in a scene — empowered her to be comfortable with nudity in her work.
“I realized there’s a difference between consent and not. I showed up for the first day and I did it and I felt empowered,” she said. “I feel like something that was taken from me, I got back. … It’s my body, it’s my art, and it’s my choice. And if you don’t like boobs, you should not go see Red Sparrow.”
During the interview, Lawrence also spoke about Harvey Weinstein as well as pay inequality in Hollywood. Check out the interview here.
