ABC’s Disney Family Singalong pulled on all of our nostalgic heartstrings on Thursday (April 16), but a serious throwback came in the form of an epic High School Musical reunion, in which Ashley Tisdale, Vanessa Hudgens, Corbin Bleu, Lucas Grabeel, Monique Coleman and director Kenny Ortega came together (virtually) to perform “We’re All in This Together.”
This isn’t the first time the group came together since the final installment of the HSM franchises hit theaters in 2008. Over the past decade, the cast reunited in part and in full to perform their old duets together or just to hang out.
We’ve rounded up every High School Musical reunion. See them below.
October 2015 – Hudgens’ Halloween party
Hudgens threw an Alice in Wonderland-themed party in 2015, and invited her old pals Coleman, Bleu and Tisdale for the fun. “In Wonderland with my woes,” Coleman wrote in the caption for an Instagram photo of her, Tisdale and Hudgens. Bleu also channeled his inner rock star with a Lenny Kravitz costume.
January 2016 – 10-year reunion
Just a few months later, the whole cast celebrated 10 years since HSM premiered on Disney Channel in 2006. Disney aired reunion footage featuring your favorite Wildcats (and the elusive Zac Efron via pre-taped message.)
“It is so surreal being here,” Hudgens says in the special. “It is crazy to me that ten years has gone by, and I see this cast and I feel like it was yesterday. I still love them so much, from the bottom of my heart. It was such a whirlwind – it’s just the best memories.”
January 2017 – “Ex’s & Oh’s”
The Sharpay and Gabriella duet we always wanted happened in 2017, when Hudgens joined Tisdale for an angelic acoustic rendition of Elle King‘s “Ex’s & Oh’s” for Tisdale’s YouTube channel. Tisdale’s husband, composer Chris French, prepared the arrangement of the song and played guitar for the girls while they harmonized in true BFF fashion.
May 2017 – “What I’ve Been Looking For”
Sharpay and Ryan reprised their iconic audition song when Grabeel joined Tisdale on her YouTube channel. “We hated each other, not kidding,” Tisdale revealed before they sang. Grabeel added, “We didn’t get off on the best foot.”
But the beef is now squashed (thankfully). “I think we just didn’t know each other. I was definitely a lot like Sharpay, and Lucas was like ‘Who is this person?'” Tisdale explained. “I have to say, after we wrapped, though, I’ve always had a love for you. You’re literally like my twin brother.”
March 2020 – “We’re All in This Together” part one
Tisdale called on the East High Wildcats to deliver the quarantine-motto-turned-dance-move amid the coronavirus crisis, reviving High School Musical‘s final number “We’re All in This Together.”
“If you need to work out while on #selfquarantine try this,” she wrote. “Hopefully this will brighten your day a little!” Vanessa Hudgens, Bart Johnson, KayCee Stroh and director Kenny Ortega all ended up joining in.
April 2020 – Coach Bolton pep talk
Ahead of the incredible Disney Family Singalong reunion, Taylor (Coleman) and Martha (Stroh) needed some encouragement from Coach Bolton (Johnson), so the trio hopped on a Zoom call. “Now, Martha, we’re gonna need your pop-n-lockin’ tonight,” Johnson told Stroh. “Taylor, we’re gonna need your leadership skills,” he told Coleman, who added, “Yes, I’ve got my head in the game.”
April 2020 – “We’re All in This Together” part two
As part of the Disney Family Singalong, the HSM cast plus a number of other Disney Channel stars virtually performed the first film’s final song.
