On Friday (Feb. 21), the Friends cast delivered the news heard ’round the world: A reunion special is officially happening. And, of course, tons of celebrities couldn’t contain their excitement.
“NO ONE TALK TO ME. IM NOT OK,” Selena Gomez commented on Jennifer Aniston’s Instagram post, which teased “It’s happening…” and tagged HBO Max as well as her Friends castmates Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry and David Schwimmer.
Everyone except LeBlanc shared the same post on their respective Instagrams (he jokingly shared the “it’s happening” announcement with a photo of the M*A*S*H cast), and Gomez was one of hundreds of stars that exclaimed in the comments. On Cox’s post, Charlie Puth — whose Friends superfandom was tested by Cox herself on Billboard‘s Quizzed series — admitted he was “Crying” over the news.
The popular Instagram account Comments By Celebs rounded up a slew of the star-studded reactions to the Friends reunion reveal, with Jordin Sparks, Reese Witherspoon, Gwenyth Paltrow, Jenna Dewan, Mindy Kaling, Julianne Hough, Queer Eye stars Antoni Porowski and Tan France, Awkwafina and several more replying in all caps and emojis. Judging by the reactions, Porowski put it best: “NOTHING ELSE MATTERS.”
The Friends reunion will be an unscripted one-off special featuring all six original castmembers, and will be available on HBO Max (along with the entire Friends catalog) in May.
