David Bowie was an icon, and still is nearly five years after his death–but it wasn’t always that way.
A new trailer for the Gabriel Range-directed Bowie biopic Stardust dropped on Wednesday (Oct. 28) featuring Johnny Flynn as a younger version of the late star, navigating a musical landscape that didn’t understand him or found his music “too weird.”
“I need to be known, I need them to know me,” he says in the trailer.
Thankfully, Ryan Oberman, the “one guy at Mercury that doesn’t hate your new record with every bone in his body,” joins his team. Played by Marc Maron, Oberman tells Bowie, “I think we can make it work. All it takes is one believer to change the world, and we got two.”
“Two?” asks, before Oberman replies: “You believe in yourself, don’t you? I think you’re gonna be the biggest star in America.”
Stardust is out in theaters and VOD on November 25. Watch the trailer below.
