After more than two months of grueling dance rehearsals and sequined costumes, season 24 of Dancing With the Stars came to a close on Tuesday night (May 23). And the winner is… Rashad Jennings!
Fifth Harmony‘s Normani Kordei was up against former MLB catcher David Ross and NFL running back Jennings in the hotly contested finale, but her dedicated Harmonizers weren’t able to get out the vote and pull out the win.
Kordei had a dominant season overall, earning multiple perfect scores throughout, but she also suffered a painful twisted ankle down the stretch and had points docked last week for a “stumble” during her Viennese waltz with partner Val Chmerkovskiy. It all proved too much as the pair finished a shocking third as Tom Bergeron and Erin Andrews awarded Jennings with the coveted Mirror Ball trophy, with David Ross landing in second place.
The evening also featured a preview of ABC’s Dirty Dancing special event, live dances from the season’s previously eliminated contestants, as well as performances from Hailee Steinfeld, Lady Antebellum and One Republic.
Revisit both of Kordei’s dances from Monday night’s final performance episode below. Dancing With the Stars returns for season 25 in the fall.
