About one million people participated in the Women’s March last weekend (Jan. 21) making it a record-breaking movement across the nation, with the core march taking place in Washington, D.C.
Madonna was one of the speakers at the Washington march who expressed their views. The outspoken artist addressed the crowd opening with “…Welcome to the revolution of love — to the rebellion and our refusal as women to accept this new age of tyranny.”
She further addressed Donald Trump, who was ingurated the day before — and the “Rebel Heart” singer dropped a few F-bombs in the process. Last night on Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen, Cyndi Lauper made an appearance and gave feedback on Madonna’s controversial speech.
“I don’t think it served our purpose because anger is not better than clarity and humanity,” said Lauper, who believes sharing personal stories helps change people’s minds. Lauper then used Scarlett Johanson’s speech as an example, saying “she shared her story, it was clear it was elequant.”
Lauper did mention that she was glad Madonna came out to the march. Take a look at the clip below.
