Kimmel shared a clip from the sitcom showing a young version of Anderson’s character, “Dre,” doubting his confidence to kiss his future wife goodnight after their first date. He then asks himself, “What would Prince do?” and a new scene shows him dressed as the ’80s pop icon, dramatically lip-syncing to “Kiss.”
The rest of the Blackish cast takes on a collection of Prince classics in the special musical episode. Tracee Ellis Ross jams to “Erotic City,” 14-year-old Marsai Martin hits “When Doves Cry” and Andrew Johnson Jr. performs “Sexy M.F.”
The 100th episode of Blackish focuses on Dre’s twins, Jack and Diane, not understanding and appreciating the music he grew up with. It airs Tuesday (Nov. 13) at 9:00 p.m. on ABC.
